The Decolonized & Decarbonized Dinner Party continues with an exhibition on Governors Island, NYC on Earth Day, April 19th, from 3:00 PM - 4:00Â PM (set up at 1 PM). Â From the beginning in 2022, the concepts of decolonization and decarbonization have been used as a lens to explore thematics around materiality and its regenerative possibilities. We ask: What are your regenerative material practices and rituals that address the climate crisis and its impact on food systems?
Our theme this year is Foraging. We encourage alternative ways of material collection, making + design practices. How can we reconsider where our building materials are found within our global locations, as opposed to extracted? How can diverse frameworks around ethical food foraging provide new frameworks around the materials we make with?
We will be located in front of Circular Economy Manufacturing. Here are directions for getting there. The closest ferry will be from Yankee Pier / Brooklyn Ferry but you can take the Manhattan ferry to Soissons Landing as well and walk over. Ferry schedule here.
